TUC Website - Website Redesign and Redevelopment
The Brief

The Brief

The TUC required a full re-architecture of the TUC website as part of their re-branding exercise to celebrate their 150th anniversary in 2018.

The TUC asked us to work with their design agency to implement a new site architecture and design into their existing Drupal Content Management System (CMS).

The project had a strict deadline to ensure that the new website was launched in time for their 149th Annual Congress in September 2017.

What we did

What we did

We worked with the TUC and the design agency to implement the new design templates into the existing Drupal platform. This included updating existing custom modules to work within the new design constraints.

A key part of the project was to re-architect the existing website. In order to do this, we carefully planned out an approach to automatically update content to re-assign it to its new location within the website.

We provided Project Management and worked with the TUC and the design agency to co-ordinate the go live process to ensure the site was delivered on schedule.

What they said

Oxford Web Applications have worked with the TUC for over 18 years and during this time have managed a range of web-based projects including the hosting and creation of the main TUC website. Oxford Web Applications are a team of highly professional and technically skilled people with the ability to work with other services providers to deliver quality results and support them to a high standard. They are highly proficient Drupal experts and have built a level of understanding for the underlying complexities of the TUC systems which enables them to respond rapidly when required to solve problems. Their friendly and creative approach to complex technical issues and their ability to find solutions that are workable and affordable is a great help to our organisation especially during our recent rebranding project.

Our history with the TUC

Our history with the TUC

We started to provide website technical development and hosting services to the TUC in the early 2000's.
The first project we successfully completed for the TUC was the redevelopment of their existing static HTML website.

The project included the addition of various 'self-publishing' areas, as at the time the concept of fully content managed websites hadn't been invented.

Our close relationship with the TUC, over many years, has allowed us to help them to develop their online presence through the development of various web enabled applications and mobile apps. We have regular updates with them and advise on the maturity of upcoming technologies and when we feel they are secure and robust enough for them to adopt.
